Running
safe in Orlando

Question:
Who comes out to the group runs?
Answer:
Beginners and experienced runners are part of
OWR and nobody is ever left behind. Usually it's 1/4
beginners, 1/4 women getting back into running, 1/4
women who want to improve their runs, and 1/4
experienced runners looking to help others and find
running buddies. There's a full range of ages and
all sorts of backgrounds... college students,
professionals, mommies, professors, new to Orlando,
bakers, clothes designers, artists, musicians, doctors,
stay-at-home moms, clubbers, groups of friends,
teachers, and much more. By running together, we
motivate and inspire each other to keep on going.
Running space is limited to 35 runners per run and you
must RSVP in advance.

Question:
What is the Running Buddy System?

Answer:
It's a mini-group within a big group.
Even though we run as a group, within the group each
person is paired up with another person. We try to
pair people up with similar paces but sometimes people
like to be paired up with someone completely different
just to make things more lively. It's a great way
to build team work and camaraderie. The running
buddy system also promotes safety.
OWR is all about making buddies...
friends through running and fitness. There is no
pressure except to come out every Saturday morning and
start your weekend right.
Check out our wonderful runners right
here or at our interactive RSVP and blog/forum site...

. You can connect and meet runners from our group
online and offline. Blog and post your thoughts
and you can also RSVP directly at
Meetup.com.
Question:
How come it cost only $2 per run with OWR
when all the other training and running clubs charge
membership fees plus $200-$350 for training programs and
some charge $60+ per hour for coaching? Are there
additional fees?
Answer:
Well it's not really $2 per run. It's
actually free but we do appreciate the $2 voluntary
contribution which helps pay for the drinks and snacks.
There are no additional fees or service/products that we
will surprise you with. OWR is about running as a
group, as a team, as a community. We have
volunteers to keep things low-cost and many members
donate water and snacks just because they rock!
If you are looking for a managed
training program that is customized for you or tailored
for a specific race event, we encourage the use of
training programs found locally. During or after your training
program, come out to the weekly OWR group runs to keep
yourself motivated and be part of a community of runners
which keeps you going all year long. =)

OWR is
completely operated by members and volunteers!!!!
